Get just about anything done by safe, reliable, awesome people.

I have finally figured out that as awesome as I am, I can not be cloned.  Enter stage left, Task Rabbit a San Francisco start up that allows you to post your tasks and presto a rascally rabbit appears to do them for you. Well, not for free but having someone else pick up groceries, pick up and assemble IKEA book shelves, and bring you lunch on a cold and dreary day is priceless. If you have some extra time or are retired signing up to be a rabbit is a great way to earn some extra money. Task Rabbit runs background checks on rabbits before they can show up with said lunch. I decided to try this service for myself, I ‘ll keep you posted.

Playing video games is not my way to spend productive time, and for the record Angry Birds is not a video game. Uhm Hmm, it’s educational and good for stress reduction. Plurent allows you to set a price for your unused video games. They take care of the shipping and you can use your earnings to rent new games or have them send you a check. Let games begin!

Ever attend the Cal v. Stanford game in Berkeley and as you walk to the game from West Oakland where you found the only available parking spot you wish that you could afford a home in Berkeley? Wish no more football fans. You can now own, well rent a piece of the home, the parking space or garage. Simply log on and log for a space near your destination, pay and park. Done.  Listing your parking space is just as easy, you even get to set your own price.

This is a great place to shop for cool and interesting items.  I love, love the t-shirts here.  It is also a great place to open a store. You can be up and running in 30 minutes provided you have photos.  In face this was my first store.

Shazam – Best app ever.  Can’t get La La Ga Ga Ga out of your head?  Need to name that tune?  There is an app for that too.

Urban Daddy – Fried Chicken in the FiDi? Where do the cool people handout? This is where I find out about where to eat and drink like the hip people.

One Brick – Get your volunteer in gear! I try to attend events here once a month. While they are still struggling to build up East Bay opportunities, I still love the folks at One Brick.  Furniture assembly anyone?

The Flip Camcorder – This is the easiest video camera I have ever used. You just press the red button to start and stop.  I created my biggest loser video using this tiny little gem. Be sure to checkout the website for all of the awesome designs and the free shipping.

I couldn’t find any socks, my bra is too large and my undies too tight. Yes, I am wearing the emergency only wear if you’re having a date tight black undies at work.  The button flew from my pants (yes, I am currently wearing button less pants) and my messenger bag got caught in the door trapping me while I watched my train leave the station.

So I am sitting here in my cubicle wondering, if, well I can have a do over for Thursday.

This has always been a favorite quote, though I have memorized nearly very line from Color Purple, this quote sort of sums up how I was feeling when I crossed the finish line this weekend at the Oakland Running Festival.  I walked/ran the 5K, the stepchild of all the races.  The real athletes sort of snickered at my excitement about the upcoming race. Seriously, the “Gu” give away man did not want to share his samples with me.  I nearly had to pry his cold, sweaty skinny fingers from my sample of mint chocolate Gu.

A friend surprised me on the day of  the race and came out with me so I would have someone to talk since Ipods were not allowed, though I saw them everywhere.

I am planning to continue training and try to improve at the Lollypop run with girls on the run later in May and the See Jane Run in June.

My mother was in and out of the loony bin and could give Precious’ mother, played by the sexy Mo’Nique in the movie, a run for the money.  I divided my time thinking of ways to get away and ways to kill myself.  I just wanted something different and yearned to be somewhere else all the time.  Too busy to notice that some guy made his orthodontic appointments the same time as mine or that some other guy felt slighted and used by me after the prom. But one by one they have all popped up with their Jessica Simpson look-a-like wives and near adolescent teens, taunting me with stories of how beautiful I was and what an amazing body I had. While none of us is same person we were 20 years, except for my friend Traci who can wear her same jeans from high school, yes she knows how much I hate her, I am a staggering 200 pounds heavier. But I am happier than I have ever been, secure, and yes sometimes I sleep on both sides of the bed.

So why do I feel so shaken and unsure and regretful?  Is it because I’m sorry that I joined Facebook or sorry for the girl I was?

Last Sunday while I lay sleeping on the big red couch I was suddenly awakened by a loud crash, the sound of breaking glass and subsequent yelling.  People where shouting and running. I, on the other hand having lived in Oakland know the drill, stayed low to the ground and decided to mind my own business. In the coming minutes I would hear sirens and see flashing lights.  All of course from my cozy, dark apartment.  I never understand neighbors that gather around when something happens.

As the evening progresses I discover that what my grandmother said it true, “Hell hath not fury like a woman burned”.  My neighbor, whom I shall now and forever more refer to as Mista, lover lover, has pissed off some chick so much that she got in a car, drove over and threw a brick into his window.

I know what you’re thinking – right? Who would do such a thing and why right? But that isn’t even the worst part.  A police officer just happened to be riding his bike in front of our complex when this all occurred. Of course he jumped off his bike and tackled the scorned lover, called for back up and the speedy El Cerrito cops swiftly arrested her 2 friends, 2 chicas waiting in the car up the street.  SMH, the entire time.

When I asked Mista what he thought of all of this, he said they were not dating, just doing some other business. Uhmm. Mmmm. Rolling my eyes.

So this brings me to things I never thought I’d do, yes some are so shameful that I can’t even write them:

1. Stay in a relationship too long because the possibility of heading out into the dating pool again makes me want to drown.

2. Eat more food than a truck driver.

3. Dye my hair.
